Indicator light wiring diagram. To do that a special turn signal switch with 6 wires instead of the later 3 wire design was used. Now lets turn to the turn signal system used on early cars. This is the wire which will become the new ground connection for the indicator warning light and which will be spliced into the ground connection from the adjacent main beam warning light. Power flows through the filament of the lights and then is grounded.
From the mid 50 s thru 1961 cars which did not have semaphores used the stop lights to double as the rear turn indicators. A wiring diagram is a streamlined standard pictorial depiction of an electric circuit. It shows the parts of the circuit as simplified forms and also the power and also signal links in between the devices. The colour of the other indicator warning light wire may be plain green or else green with a red stripe green red.
Depending on the position of the turn signal stalk the power either stops in the switch or gets sent to the left or right turn signal lights including the indicator lights on the dashboard.
